The Department of Geography (www) covers a broad range of geographical aspects from human and economic geography over environmental geography to geomorphology, soil science, hydrology and climatology. Over the last 15 years the flux group has worked with trace gas flux measurements under a variety of climatic environments form Sahel to the Arctic. Recently the research has beenfocussing on Northern and Arctic regions, with the defined objective to obtain a better understanding of the carbon balance and greenhouse gas budget of these areas.

Henrik Soegaard is associate professor at the Institute of Geography with 30 years experience in micrometeorology and flux measurements. His speciality is surface fluxes of heat, water vapour and carbon dioxide with emphasis on the interaction between soil/vegetation and atmosphere. He was the leader of the Danish contribution to HAPEX-Sahel, and EFEDA I and II and NOPEX experiments.
